What are cosmeceuticals? Cosmeceuticals is a term which was coined from the words “cosmetic” and “pharmaceutical”. They are products which are different from those which can be simply purchased at the drugstore counter because they have potent and active ingredients in them. Some of them contain prescription-strength agents. Thus, cosmeceuticals are a very effective way to treat a variety of skin problems.
Cerúl Product Line
The Cerúl Skincare line of products was designed specifically for the DermLaser Institute of Dallas. It is a gentle, but extremely effective skincare line that can be customized to meet each individual’s needs. No matter whether it be acne-prone skin, dry skin, pigmented skin or aged skin that simply requires treatment and maintenance of the photoaging process, Cerúl is an elegant way to improve the appearance, tone and texture of the skin, including the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
Retinoids (Scientifically-proven for reversal of photo-aging effects)
Retinoids have been proven in multiple scientific studies to reverse the effects of the sun on the colllagen bundles in the skin. Serums are typically preferred by individuals with normal to oily skin. Emolugels are a moisturizing formulation of a product, and is typically preferred by individuals with normal to dry skin, or those who have been unable to tolerate a retinoid in the past. Dr. Turner has never been able to find a similar formulation such as this. It is recommended to start at the lowest strength and advance as tolerated to the 100 strength. It is recommended that these be used every other night for the best effect.
